...

All did not go well. It's been raining since the day before the turning of two-oh, thus, we did not see Hiji Falls; quite a pity.

For some odd reason, I feel compelled to go shopping. I'm a girl, yes. But shopping urges are not frequent with this one. Unfortunately, I'm poor right now as my next two paychecks are going towards school. /sigh. How I'd like a comfy, non-shrinking black coat and comfy, non-shrinking, stretchy black jeans, and comfy, long-lasting, fitting shoes.

I never fail to see how uninteresting this blog is. I tend to think, with time, it'll improve- but no. I do wish I could pencil a journey of sorts (not that life isn't one big one in itself), something blog-worthy to note of on a day-and-a-half by day-and-a-half basis.

Seijin no Hi

20 years, 16 hours, and approximately 5 minutes old. They asked how it felt to be 2 and 0, and I said, "Hmm." It wasn't quite a creative response, honestly, but I've this better idea to look forward to 21. So, although it's not really exciting being 20, I don't mind it at all. I'll probably warm up to it soon enough. I'm looking forward to progression though. Getting older presents more opportunities, more responsibilities, but I am eager to do more things in life as the years go by; moving out, living and studying in Hawai'i.

Quite grateful to those who had wished me well :) I do hate making a fuss about me, but it really does warm the soul when people outside of your family remember little details like this.

Tomorrow, we're planning on heading to Hiji Falls, in the northern part of Okinawa. Hopefully things go well so I can give a proper update tomorrow. With turning a new page in life, I hope to do memorable things like exploring the beauty of the island (need to build up that "new things I've done in the past year" list anyway). Besides, being stuck on an airbase is like never leaving the US. :P

/Ah, I really would've had loved to wear a kimono for my seijin no hi.

Okay, so MTV does show decent music vids now and then.

omgsh!

I finally found The original Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" music video, when MTV actually showed decent music videos.

/screams.
:P

Hey, I haven't seen the music vid to this awesome song since I was, like, 3.

Tip: pause and let the file buffer in full first.

Nearer to the dust.

The endless cycle of idea and action,
Endless invention, endless experiment,
Brings knowledge of motion, but not of stillness;
Knowledge of speech, but not of silence;
Knowledge of words, and ignorance of the Word.
All our knowledge brings us nearer to our ignorance,
All our ignorance brings us nearer to death,
But nearness to death no nearer to God.
Where is the Life we have lost in living?
Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge?
Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?
The cycles of Heaven in twenty centuries
Brings us father from God and nearer to the Dust.

- Excerpt from Choruses from 'The Rock', T.S. Eliot

New tunes.

Eisley. Check them out.

I need to stop going to bed so late. I love enjoying coffee in the evening though, which wholly sucks considering well-chosen bedtime hours. I've become such an owl, and probably a lazy bum to other members in the family everytime they barge in the only private quarters I have to find me napping.

I often wonder about the patheticness of blogging. It's such a trend amongst the net-savvy it seems. Everyone does it, everyone tends to sound just as lame, oVeRly cHaRaCtErIsTiClY t33naGe, and whatnot, save for those interesting writers that radiate a sense of wanting to sound as interesting as they when they'd probably say "bug off, poser" or something in response. You want to express yourself but you don't quite care to over expose yourself, yet you do it, you blog, anyway. It sounds almost superficial just to blog for the sake of blogging, but there's always an underlying feeling- either lamely depressing, deficient, or insecure- prompting you to post something, whatever's on your mind.

Whatever these praline, walnuts, buttermilk, sugarsugar cookie-looking things are, they're good. Only, I'm also having interests in becoming a health freak. Go figure.
